Interview with Active Acres Haunted Farm Marketing Rep...Jason Fluck
We recently had the chance to interview the marketing rep for the much talked about "Active Acres Haunted Farm" in Newtown, Pa. I have heard some really good things about this haunt, and am looking forward to visiting it this October. Without further due, here is our exclusive interview with Active Acres Haunted Farm, marketing rep Jason Fluck......
Haunted House News: Can you 1st start off by telling us, where Active Acres Haunted Farm is located, and the opening date for this haunt?
Jason Fluck: Active Acres Haunted Farm is a real working farm located in beautiful Bucks County. The address is 881 Highland Road, Newtown PA 18940. Our opening night this year is Friday October 1st. Butch Patrick who played Eddie Munster
will be our special guest that night from 8:30 to 10:30.
Haunted House News: Your haunts are listed by the AAA as one of the nation's premiere haunted attractions. Could you give us a run down please on your 3 haunted attractions you have?
Jason Fluck: We have the Sleepy Hollow Hayride which takes guests on a 1 1/4 mile long trip through the dark back woods and fields of the farm. You can see why farmer Bill and his wife never leave the safety of the farmhouse after dark. We also have tours through the abandoned Malfate Manor also known as the House in the Hollow. Seventeen rooms are open to the public on the first floor and cellars along with an adjacent cemetery and walk through crypt. Guests may also walk among the corn stalks, caretakers shacks and neglected farm equipment of the Field of Fright.
Haunted House News: I have heard nothing but the best about your haunt. I am actually really looking forward to visiting Active Acres Haunted Farm this year. How many years have you all been operating for?
Jason Fluck: We have been in operation for over twenty years. The farm was originally known for its Sleepy Hollow Hayride and the haunted house moved from a nearby property to the farm property in 1999 so that guests could enjoy both attractions at one location.
Haunted House News: And in your opinion, what seperates you Actives Acres Haunted Farm from the rest of the haunts, and WHY should haunt fans check it out this October?
Jason Fluck: Our farm is the perfect place to celebrate the Halloween season and the ideal setting for the telling of a ghost story. Gathered with friends and family by the warmth and safety of the bonfires on a crisp autumn evening surrounded by open fields. The haunted house is a ghost story come to life. It is the archetypical deserted mansion located down in a fog choked hollow. Shrouded in cobwebs and illuminated by flickering lanterns and the flashes from a perpetual thunderstorm. It is filled with see-through ghosts, and secret passages and achieves a level of realism not found with most haunts. With an abundance of imaginative effects it has no need for chainsaws or gore, but it definitely is scary. The farm crew has been particularly busy this year preparing many new scenes in the back woods and field of the haunted hayride.
Haunted House News: Is there anything else you would like to add? It can be on any topic or subject, this is your chance to say anything you would like.
Jason Fluck: Check out our website to get an idea of what we are about. The website is composed almost entirely from pictures taken on the farm and the of the haunted attractions. http://activeacresfarm.com/hfmain.html
